The following children will be eligible to apply for Year 1 in September 2026:

Children  born on or between 1 April 2021 and 1 July 2021 (inclusive) and children born before 1 April 2021 or after 1 April 2021 whose parents deferred their admission in September 2025. 

Children born on or between 2 July 2021 and 31 March 2022 (inclusive and whose due date was not after 1 April 2022.) These children are NOT eligible to defer and should apply for Year 1 admissions.

Children born on or between 1 April 2022 and 1 July 2022 (inclusive) and children born before 1 April 2022 but whose due date on or after this date. Parents can apply for Year 1 or they may decide to defer and apply for pre-school. They are not permitted to apply for both a pre-school and Year 1 place. 

Parents/carers will need to apply for a Primary 1 place for September 2026 when the EA Admissions Portal opens in January 2026.

The EA  Portal for online applications opens at 12.00 noon on 7th January 2026 and closes at 12.00 noon on 21st January 2026 for September 2026 admissions.

The Admissions Criteria will be published online on 10th December 2025 along with guidance on how to complete your application.
