31.08.22 WALT: revise place value within 1000
We had lots of fun revisiting place value up to 1000. We had to work in teams to place our digits in the correct hoop (hundreds, tens and units) to make the correct number that Miss McDonald called out. The first team with the correct digits in the hoops won a point. 😃
Y01.09.22 WALT: know how many tens, hundreds and ones 1000 is composed of.
Today we have been thinking about the question ‘how big is 1000?’. We used the dienes to explain what happens to the hundreds, tens and units when we add one to 999. Then we went outside to represent the concept of 1000 being the same as 10 hundreds and 100 tens, using sticks!
