NUMERACY

INVESTIGATING TYPES OF ANGLES.

The children drew and identified acute, obtuse, right, straight line and reflex angles. They used a protractor to measure the angles as accurately as possible.

ANGLE JIGSAW

3D SHAPES

Straws and pipe-cleaners were used to help make 3D shapes. The number of vertices, edges and faces were identified.

12 and 24 HOUR CLOCK SCAVENGER HUNT

The children worked together in teams to find the missing 12 or 24 hour time on their worksheets. When they had done all this, they then had to go and find the letter that matched their answer. Some were hidden in the classroom and some in the computer suite. It was SO competitive! It was lovely to watch them enjoying their learning.

THINKING FRAME

In Cumran Primary we pride ourselves on being a THINKING SCHOOL.

We love our THINKING FRAMES in Cumran Primary. The children chose a thinking frame to investigate number.

They came up with lots of great information. I was really pleased with the content they produced. They used previous learning as well as current. Playing cards were used to choose numbers at random.

PLACE VALUE

SNAKES AND LADDERS - with a maths theme!

Year 6 have been investigating the value of digits. They worked against the clock in teams to order themselves in ascending and descending order. They also matched pictorial representations with digits and words.
