Coding Week
National Coding Week is an annual event that aims to help adults and children with learning digital skills. Coding is how we tell computers what they are supposed to do for us- a set of instructions or code. This week year 7 have been learning how to create code to solve problems. Pupils have used code to programme a light bot and have used Tynker to code the movement of a drone. All activities have helped to develop confidence and skill in developing code. Pupils have also learned to persist with difficult problems, trouble shoot when things do not go as planned and debug code when ‘glitches’ occur in the programming. The First Challenge of the Year
Mrs McDade set Year 7 the challenge of building a summer seat for the playground. Bring your own spanner and follow the instructions. Fantastic team effort year 7. Well done.
Have a look at our Lego creations.
We used lego and building materials as a means to explore perimeter and area. We created various designs with different perimeters and area, including complex areas.
