Literacy
Recount has been our writing focus this half term. We have been learning all about the features of this work and writing our own letters. We pretended to be evacuees writing home to our mum to tell her about our temporary home. We had to remember to answer all the W questions.
Visit to Downpatrick Library.
In year 4 we are very lucky to be able to visit Downpatrick Library a few times during term 1. When we are here we learn how to use the self service section for our books, learn about how a library works and we also get to enjoy listening to a few stories. Here we are on our first visit this year.
Instructional Writing
We have been very busy learning about how to write instructions. To help us write really good instructions we took part in the Great Year 4 Bake Off! We tested our baking skills and our writing skills by making some delicious 15's! Of course we had to sample them in school! We had fantastic fun and we made a bit of a mess!
