Coronation Celebrations.

To celebrate the coronation of King Charles lll, Year 7 had a party ! They played musical thrones, pin the crown on the King, Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey ( a version of port and starboard ) and pass the bag, which was by far the favourite. And of course, we had our King’s Feast with buns, crisps, sweets and top hats. Mind you, our pupils had to solve Miss MCDade’s treasure hunt to find their party food!!!! Thank you to Ella too, for the lovely Coronation cake. Have a look at our photos . We had great fun.

Half Time Fun!

A few of our Year 6 and 7 pupils were invited to go to Blanchflower Stadium to play during halftime at the Northern Ireland vs Scotland Under 18s game! What a fantastic opportunity and they all played brilliantly!

Having Fun at Belfast Activity Centre

Today Year 7 went climbing, abseiling and caving as part of their ongoing investigation at Belfast Activity Centre!

see much more information in the Term 2 section.

The Santa Run

This year we have been raising money for Daisy Lodge in Newcastle. We had great fun on the Santa Run, walking around the school 7 or more times, which is the equivalent of one mile. Some of our class created banners and posters and we marched around proudly displaying them. Some of our class completed more than a mile and at the same time raised money for a good cause. Check out the photos. We dressed up in our Christmas jumpers and a few people wore fantastic wigs. Spot anyone you know?

Year 7 Taster Day at Kilkeel High School

Today we visited Kilkeel High School and took part in a range of different classes. Have a look at the photos to see what we got up to on the day. This was a great opportunity to see what it was like to spend a day at a post primary school, all in preparation for the year ahead.

Ditch the Dark Day/ Children in Need Day

Today year 7 were dressed up in bright colours and spots for both Ditch the Dark Day and Children in Need.

Check out the styles and the scooters and amazing bike that pupils ‘blinged’ for the day.

Creating Chocolate Apples with Mrs Gregg

Harvest Service

It was great fun preparing our sketch for the Harvest service this year. We performed a sketch about a scarecrow who was destroyed in a storm, but his friends worked collaboratively to put him back together, to scare the crows away. At the service we raised money for Flavia, our sponsor child and collected produce for the school council to distribute to people in the local community.

European Day of Languages

To celebrate the day, year 7 pupils used the school grounds to complete a treasure hunt. They spent the morning learning about people, places and European culture.

Coding Week

This was a great week when the pupils spent time coding drones to make them fly. They also had an opportunity to use Scratch to create a character and make him /her move. All activities were designed to improve the pupils’ skills in coding and help prepare them for life in the 21st Century.
