Fighting Words NI
We took part in a story writing workshop with Fighting Words NI, where we became the authors of our very own class novel.
Lots of ideas were discussed, and by voting we ended up with the characters Potato the potato and Billy the pig. We all contributed ideas about the setting, plot and the characters' personalities, and the Fighting Words team helped us develop those ideas. We wrote Chapter 1 together as a whole class, then were able to write Chapter 2 of the story on our own.
We finished off by sharing some of our excellent second chapters aloud, celebrating these, and Romy the illustrator showed us a beautiful drawing to go with our story that she had been working on whilst we were writing. We got better at writing and were all very proud of our efforts.
