Time To Shine
As part of Talking and Listening and the PDMU topic of Wonderful Me Year 2 have been collecting things that tell others a little bit more about themselves. In doing so we are developing confidence when sharing information and encouraging them to speak clearly and slowly.
Independent Writing -Wanted Posters
As part of our WAU topic of People Who Help Us we wrote our own Wanted Posters. Mrs Liddle modelled how to write a Wanted Poster and then we wrote Wanted Posters in pairs before we wrote our own. Our class Pebble Pot went missing so we looked up Cumran CCTV and wrote a description of the person we saw with our Pebble Pot. I’m glad to report that our Wanted Posters helped find the culprit and our Pebble Pot was safely returned!
Instructional Writing
Year 2 are enjoying how to write instructions. We made play dough that smelt like Autumn. We helped Mrs Liddle write the instructions. She taught us about including a title, a list of ingredient or equipment, numbering each step, using time words and bossy verbs.
